Assistance League of Pomona Valley is 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organization that serves children and families in the Pomona Valley communities. ALPV offers free dental services to children and adults, and provides a week's worth of new clothing to school aged children. Each wreath sale through Lynch Creek Farm will help us raise vital funds so we can continue to serve those in need.
There are over 3,500 children in Pomona alone who are homeless. The number of children and their families who need our services is increasing daily. ALPV, a local chapter of National Assistance League®, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer organization that has been serving our community since 1946. Our chapter provides the following assistance:
• Operation School Bell® provides new clothing to school age children from pre-K through high school. Many children are returning to in-person school for the 2021-22 school year and others may continue with virtual learning. Whether children are on campus or learning from home, it is still imperative that they have appropriate and proper fitting clothing in order to boost their self-esteem and increase their participation in school. Over 1,300 children received socks, underwear, pants, shirts, and jackets in 2020.
• Books for Kids provides books to children and since 2013 over 6,000 books have been distributed.
• Dental Center provides emergency and maintenance care, including fluoride treatments, x-rays, extractions, and root canals to children and adults.
• Assault Survivor Kits® provides new clothing, toiletries, and other items to women and children of assault. Kits are assembled by members of ALPV and distributed by Project Sister.
These philanthropic programs are funded through our annual fundraising events and our ability to continue offering these services is based on community support like yours. To learn more, please visit www.alpv.org.
